We developed and launched a new identity and range of packaging for Mobros Candles, with hand-drawn illustrations taking centre stage. The new brand image was created with the intention of appealing to a younger, more aesthetic driven target audience.

Mobros Candles came to us as a relatively young business, having been producing candles from their Glasgow Workshop for a few years. Their beautiful scented candles were handmade, combining luxury waxes and aromatic oils. This premium artisan product did not have a brand identity that aligned with that offering, and so they asked us to remedy that.

We worked closely with the team at Mobros, and through a brand workshop we established the customer groups that the company wanted to focus on, creating a defined target audience that we would have in the crosshairs throughout our process as we designed and developed the new Mobros brand identity. This customer focused approach resulted in a brief that targeted customers that had quality and an appreciation for handcrafted products at the forefront of their mind in their buying choices.

We started with a new logo which we purposely kept very clean and minimal to allow for the packaging illustrations to be the focus of the packaging. We had decided to produce hand drawn illustrations for all of the ranges scents to help enforce the handmade nature of the candle making process.

The newly launched range was launched in national press and across social media using video and animated promo material that we created.

The photography shoot to produce the visuals for the relaunch was conceived, art directed and shot in-house. The new images were used to redefine the brand and were key to the brand relaunch and the targeting of the new customer groups. With the new brand identity the team at Mobros were able to win several supply contracts with retailers that they had previously struggled to make any progress with. These retailers were higher end and allowed for access to the customer base that we had been targeting from the outset of this project.
